5 steps to soften your chapped lips

  • Drink plenty of water, thoroughly hydrate your skin, including lips.
  • Avoid harsh weather. If this is impossible, make sure you always protect your lips by applying a lip balm.
  • Try using the lip balms regularly. If you wait until you have chapped lips, the recovery will take longer.
  • Try not to lick your lips or remove the skin with your fingers. It irritates the skin, and slows down any efforts we invest in lip care.
  • Make sure you take vitamin supplements. Often, cracks in the corner of the mouth indicate a deficiency of Vita

How to apply lipstick?

Applying lipstick is an art and therefore not everyone's cup of tea. It requires a specific technique, which most women are unaware of. There is a proper way of wearing lipstick. But, unfortunately many females escape the long procedure and resort to a short cut method, which mars the whole look.

how to choose lipgloss asper skin tone?

This is easy. Your skin is either warm or cool in overall tone. If your skin is pinkish or rosy but without orange overtones, you have cool coloring.

If your skin is dark brown or black with bluish undertones, you have cool coloring. If you're pale but leaning towards white instead of yellowish coloring, you have cool coloring. For cool coloring, choose lip glosses without a hint of yellow or orange in them. Raspberry is great, plummy purples, pinks, lavenders are fine. And true-blue red, but not an orange red, ever.

If you have yellow or orange undertones in your skin color, you'll want a warmly colored lip gloss. Look for peachy, coral, orange-red, brown or golde

winter shades of lipstick???

Friday, December 5, 2008

Winter lipstick trend - Blooming berries.

In the world of lipstick shades, you'll be on target if you think of bowls of bountiful berries. Trendy lipsticks in rich berry shades of deep cranberry, burgundy, crimson, and wine will give lips new definition and focus. Although daunting for some people to wear, it's really a question of finding the shade that best suits your skin tone and style. Try experimenting with various berry shades at your local cosmetic counter before making a purchase. Since dark defined color can make narrow lips look smaller, so go for a lighter more subtle shade of berry if your lips are small.

Winter lipstick trend - Rich reds

The classic red lipstick that emerged this fall is continuing to make its mark. While some people find crimson red to be overwhelming, experimentation should yield a red shade that will suit your level of comfort. Remember there are lots of shades of red. Choose one that's right for you.

Winter lipstick trend - Focus, focus, focus

When playing up lips, scale back on the amount of eye makeup a bit, otherwise the look can become overwhelming. This year it's eyes of lips in focus, but not both at the same time.

How to apply lipliner

Wednesday, December 3, 2008

1)To apply lip liner you first need to buy one! Go for one that is the same sort of shade as the lip stick, at least one that is not a lighter shade as this then would look strange.

2)Ensure your lips are nice and moist first, and that your pencil is sharp so to get a good line.

3)Draw along the lips, starting at the middle of the lip and working out to the edges, both sides from the middle each time, this helps get the best shape and smoothest line.

Be sure to apply the lip liner before lip stick!
